Q) What are the uses for MēConvert for ZEN?

A) MēConvert for ZENis an easy-to-use multimedia converter that converts files and DVDs to ZEN format.

Q) How do I convert a batch of multimedia files?

A) To convert a batch of multimedia file(s), perform the following steps:

  1. Insert the file(s) you want to convert into the Tasks List by performing one of the following procedures:

  1. Select a Conversion Profile.

  2. Select Convert  to start the conversion process.

Q) How do I change the video size (resolution) of the converted video files?

A) Use the Profile View to select a different profile for the conversion.

Q) How do I convert an entire DVD to ZEN-compatible format?

A) Follow these steps to convert a DVD to ZEN-compatible format:

  1. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive. Select OK in the Select DVD Disc(s) dialog that appears.

or

  1. Select Convert a DVD  to back up a DVD by opening the Select DVD Disc Dialog to select a DVD disc for insertion into the Tasks List.

  1. Select a profile in the Profile View.

  2. Select Convert  to start the conversion process.

Q) How do I convert a single DVD title or chapter to ZEN-compatible format?

    A) Follow these steps to convert a single DVD title The name for a group of related video files (called "Chapters") on your DVD. For example, for a DVD called "My Summer Vacation," you might have the titles "Water Skiing," "New Friends," and "Hiking." For each of those titles, you might have one or more different video files. or chapter The name for each individual video file on a DVD. For example, under the title "Water Skiing", you might have the chapters "My first try," "My first wreck," and "My first jump." to ZEN-compatible format:

    1. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive. Select OK in the Select DVD Disc(s) dialog that appears.

    or

    1. Add DVDs to the Tasks List. The Tasks List shows the files that will be converted. The order of the items in the list is the order that will be used to perform the conversion. Right-click anywhere in the in the list to open the Tasks List Context Menu, which contains useful commands.

    To add items, do one of the following:

    1. (Optional) Select DVD tracks. If you are converting a DVD that does not have a playlist, or are converting a DVD that does have a playlist but you want to convert the entire movie, skip this step.

    Open the Select DVD Chapters Dialog to designate a specific portion (chapters and titles) and specific features of a source DVD for conversion. To open this dialog, perform one of the following procedures:

    1. Select the Profile. Use the Profile View to select the conversion profile for the selected task(s). MēConvert comes with many  built-in profiles for various devices.

    2. Select an Output Folder. Use the Output Folder to specify where you want to save the converted files:

Q) How do I convert a file to  ZEN-compatible format?

    A) Perform the following steps to convert a file to ZEN-compatible format:

    1. Select Convert Files to display an MS Windows Open dialog so you can select the file(s) for insertion into the Tasks List.

    1. Select a profile in the Profile View to set the Compression, Quality and Size, and Output Folder.

    2.  Select Convert to start the conversion process.

Q) When attempting to convert a video I get the message "DVD does not contain audio or video", what should I do?

    A)  MēConvert requires DVD viewing software on your machine in order to acquire and convert the video. If you do not have DVD playing software installed, please take a look at the software that came with either your computer or your DVD player to see if this software was included (most likely it was) and install it. If you are unsure if you have DVD software installed, you can conduct a test in Windows Media Player to see if the problem is with M2Convert or with your operating system. To do this, open Windows Media Player, then attempt to open the DVD player:  Select File -> Open, navigate to the Video_TS folder on the DVD, the open the VIDEO_TS.IFO file. If your video plays correctly in Windows Media Player, the problem is with M2Convert. In this case, please contact support at http://www.m2solutionsinc.com/support/contactsupport.html for further steps.

Q) How do I transfer my converted files to my ZEN?

    A) Follow these steps to transfer a file to your ZEN:

    1. Connect your ZEN to any USB port on your computer..

    2. From your computer desktop, go to My Computer>ZEN Vision Media Explorer

    3. Select Organize Media>Video.

    4. Drag and drop the converted files to the Video folder on your ZEN.

Q) Why do my converted files display "www.m2solutionsinc.com" in the center of the video?

    A) This means that you are running an evaluation version of M2Convert for ZEN.
