Details Tasks List
Use the Details Tasks List to manage the files to be converted as well as any DVD videos to be created along with their properties. The Tasks List displays the tasks to be performed, the status of each task and other information. The first two columns contain the Source and Target names. Each row in the list represents one task.
Use the list to change the target filename or the order in which the tasks are to be performed, to remove tasks, and to select tasks for customization.
The order of the items in the Tasks List is the order in which the tasks will be performed. To change an items order, drag the item to the new location or use the Move Up or Move Down commands on the toolbar at the bottom of the Tasks List. When dragging an item, notice that there is a highlight marker on the item where it will drop. The item will be dropped before the highlighted item.
Right-click anywhere in the Tasks List or on an item in the list to open the Tasks List Context Menu, which contains useful commands.
Double-click on an item to play a source file.
The Details Tasks List is shown in the figure below:
The following fields can be displayed for each task:
Name of the Source file being converted. If a DVD image is being created, the source displays "<Multiple Sources>".
Name of the target file resulting from the conversion (or the name of the folder, if creating a DVD). The name automatically includes the extension used by the target file format.
To change target filename, select the item and press the F2 key.
Media type of the source file. For example, if the source file has video and audio, this will show "Audio/Video".
Task execution status. If the task is "idle" (never converted), this will be blank. If the task is running, the percent completion displays. When a task is completed, the completion status (failed or succeeded) displays.
Displays the size of the target file on disk.
Displays the average bit-rate of the target file.
Displays an estimate of the time remaining to complete the currently executing task. If the task is paused, the estimate is updated when the task resumes.
Displays the elapsed time for the currently executing task being completed. Only the actual conversion time displays, any pause time is not included.
Displays notes about the task being executed such as a detailed error message for any failed item.
Details Tasks List Icons
The Details Tasks List also displays icons for the task type as well as the task status, as described in the following paragraphs:
The Tasks List displays different icons for each task type. For file conversions, a special icon that depends upon the media content of the source file is displayed. For instance, if a source has audio and video, an icon that shows audio/video will be displayed for the item. For DVD image tasks a DVD icon is displayed.
The Tasks List also displays icons beside each task that show the task's status. The status can be one of the following:
Idle (no icon is shown)
Failed to convert
